Bina Insan Mulia (BIMA) Islamic Boarding School is the largest ethnic-modern Islamic boarding school (pesantren) in West Java, Indonesia. Spanning an expansive area of up to 100 hectares in Cirebon, our institution is home to more than 5,000 students hailing from across the Indonesian archipelago.
Founded and directed by K.H. Imam Jazuli, Lc., M.A.—an alumnus of Al-Azhar University (Egypt), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and the University of Malaya—Bina Insan Mulia is supported by an elite faculty of educators graduated from renowned domestic and international universities, alongside native speakers from the Middle East and abroad.
- 2013: Established Bina Insan Mulia 1 and launched Indonesia’s first pesantren-based Vocational High School (SMK)
- 2015–2016: Opened the IT Junior High School (SMP IT) and the Flagship Islamic Senior High School (MA Unggulan Bertaraf Internasional / MAUBI).
- 2020: Launched Bina Insan Mulia 2 with premium VIP boarding services, alongside the International Standard Junior and Senior High Schools (SMP & SMA Unggulan Bertaraf Internsional) integrating Cambridge and Singapore curricula.
- 2025–2026: Expanded with Bina Insan Mulia 3 (BIMA 3)—welcoming over 1,000 new students in its inaugural intake alone—and achieved our landmark vision of sending over 1,000 graduates to prestigious universities worldwide.
- 2026–2027: Launched Pesantren VVIP Bina Insan Mulia 4 (BIMA 4)

Program-Based Learning (PBL)
Unlike conventional book-by-book systems that often lead to repetitive learning, Bina Insan Mulia pioneers Program-Based Learning (PBL). Students focus intensively on priority competencies within a single semester with measurable targets and continuous monitoring. Because each program concludes within one semester, every student celebrates graduation twice a year at five-star hotels in Cirebon (such as The Luxton, Aston, Patra, and Swiss-Belhotel).
Our 6 Core Mastery Programs include:
An intensive, stress-free Quran recitation and memorization method that enables students to complete their Tahfidz targets in just 4 months without sacrificing formal schooling. This program has earned recognition from the West Java Provincial Government as the largest recipient of Tahfidz scholarships.
A fast, engaging, and systematic methodology for mastering Arabic grammar (Nahwu-Sharaf) and reading unvoweled classical Islamic texts (Kitab Kuning)
Exploring the jurisprudence of worship (Ibadah) and contemporary transactions (Muamalah) through real-world case studies relevant to modern life.

SMA Unggulan Bina Insan Mulia is a private senior high school operating under the VIP Bina Insan Mulia Dua Islamic Boarding School Foundation, established in 2021. Within five years, its student body has grown to 495 students. The school holds an Grade A (Excellent) accreditation status and is officially registered with NPSN 70035586. Its educational program integrates the Cambridge and Oxford curricula with Islamic boarding school character development.
The quality of education at the school is reflected in the achievements of its graduates. To date, Bina Insan Mulia alumni are studying across 17 countries, attending institutions such as Higher School of Economics (HSE) Moscow and ITMO University Saint Petersburg (Russia), Vocational Training (Ausbildung) at Berufsschule Sachsen (Germany), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), University of Western Australia (Australia), Zhejiang University (China), University of Malaya (Malaysia), Tokyo International University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan), Al-Azhar University Cairo (Egypt), University of Al-Qarawiyyin (Morocco), University of Manouba (Tunisia), Afyon Kocatepe University, Istanbul University, and Bursa Uludağ University (Turkey), Fooyin University (Taiwan), Ontario Tech University (Canada) through a double-degree program, as well as institutions in France, Thailand, Pakistan, Jordan, and Oman.
The remaining graduates have been admitted to top domestic universities, including Universitas Indonesia (UI), IPB University, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA), State Islamic Universities (UIN), and various state polytechnics. They gained admission through various selective pathways, such as SNBP, SNBT, UMPTKIN, Talent Scouting, PPKB UI, International Undergraduate Programs (IUP), and merit-based independent admissions.
To date, a total of 189 graduates from SMA Unggulan Bina Insan Mulia have pursued higher education at prestigious institutions both nationally and internationally. This achievement demonstrates the school’s strong commitment to producing knowledgeable, noble, and globally competitive generations ready to excel at top universities across Indonesia and the world.
